Picture windows are large, stationary windows that frame a view outside like a picture.  They are also known as fixed frame windows because they do not open.  Picture windows are often square or rectangular and have a single pane of glass without rails to obstruct the view.  Their narrow frames maximize the glass to allow more natural light into a home.
